Found a Butterfly?

If you find a hibernating (sleeping) butterfly in your house in winter this is what to do:

• very gently put it in a cardboard box
• leave it for half an hour or so in a cooler location to settle down
• now relocate the box to the inside of a shed, outhouse or garage, make sure that the box has an opening, so that the butterfly can escape when it wakes up in spring
