There are many books on how to care for birds and with detailed plans and instructions on how to build a basic bird box for your blue tits or for a super fancy townhouse for your robins.

Bird boxes are a very valuable asset to any wildlife friendly garden as it not only provides a safe place to nest, but also provides a warm place to sleep during the cold winter months. It's true! I have seen a blue tit entering a bird box late at night.
